We are aware that job seekers have received false offers of employment from individuals and organisations claiming to represent G&S. Unauthorised use of the G&S name and logo appears on documentation that supports these fraudulent offers.

WHAT IS RECRUITMENT FRAUD?

Recruitment fraud happens when scammers offer fake job opportunities to job seekers and this type of illegal behaviour is on the increase. Job seekers are enticed to provide either money or personal data through appealing job opportunities that simply don’t exist. Money is nonrecoverable and data is used in identity theft which can have long-term repercussions.

Recruitment fraud is more prevalent in the online space such as and can use many mediums to attract victims. With the decrease in face to face contact due to the pandemic, mediums such as text messages, emails, websites and social media accounts can appear legitimate but criminals have simply become smarter in using these tools to their maximum advantage. In some instances, employee names and logos are duplicated from existing companies to give the perception of legitimacy.

G&S RECRUITMENT PRACTICES

G&S aims to create awareness and prevent job seekers from falling victim to employment scams.

Please use these verification checks below to screen any correspondence you receive from us, or someone claiming to represent our organisation:

  • Verify the email address: G&S employees conduct email communications via the domains @gskaefer.com.au or @kaefer.com.au. We will never use Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or any other non-official email account to communicate with potential candidates.
  • Formal interview process: G&S follows a strict and rigorous interview process and will not make any offers of employment without a formal interview.
  • First contact telephone calls are always from a fixed line: G&S employees always make first contact telephone calls from fixed lines from our offices; never via text message or by mobile phone.
  • We won’t ask for money: G&S never requests money from candidates who seek employment with us. We will never ask for any form of payment as part of the recruitment process for visa fees, taxes, accommodation, background checks or travel expenses.
  • Don’t send sensitive personal information via email:  We do not require personal or sensitive information to process a job application.
